The Read: Mayer is the old-school tight end bet living inside a modern fantasy room. Brock Bowers owns the fireworks, but Mayer still matters because he can play attached, work dirty downs, win through contact, and keep the offense in heavier personnel without waving a white flag to the defense. For dynasty, this is not a weekly ceiling chase yet. It is a young second-round tight end hold with contingent value, role stability, and enough real-football utility to keep him one depth-chart tremor away from becoming much louder.
Dynasty UseBench stash with role insulationNot the primary fantasy engine while Bowers is healthy, but age, draft capital, and attached-role value keep him rosterable in deeper dynasty formats.
Risk ShapeCeiling capped by target hierarchyThe talent is useful. The problem is math. Bowers controls the premium tight end targets unless the room changes.
