The Read: Gabriel’s rookie season created proof without creating priority. He started six games, threw seven touchdowns against only two interceptions, and added 86 rushing yards, but Cleveland generated just 5.1 yards per attempt and one win under him. A Week 11 concussion opened the door for Shedeur Sanders; Sanders kept the job after Gabriel cleared protocol. The new staff has now narrowed the 2026 first-team competition to Sanders and Deshaun Watson while adding rookie Taylen Green to the room. Gabriel remains cheap, experienced, and capable of operating an offense. He is also 25 and currently outside the starter lane. Dynasty value rests on whether six controlled starts can buy him another audition before the league files him permanently as QB2/QB3 depth.
Dynasty UseDeep Superflex stashA Browns quarterback handcuff whose payoff requires injury, a camp reversal, or a future change of address.
Risk ShapeCompetence without leverageBall security and a cheap deal support employment; low explosive output and lost first-team standing suppress fantasy value.
